Betsy Vincent’s Obituary

Betsy Garrison Vincent, a woman of great faith entered the Eternal Kingdom peacefully on June 28, 2012 surrounded by family and friends in Dallas, Texas at the young age of 40 after a long and courageous battle with Leiomyosarcoma (“LMS”).

She leaves behind a loving husband of 13 years, Mark Vincent and sons Gus (11) and Garrison (9) of University Park; parents Connie and Frank Garrison; brother, Ben Garrison and wife Sallie and their children Sarah Abney and Frank Garrison IV, of Eufaula, Alabama; sister-in-law, Kim Butler and husband Bruce and their children, Blaire and Brooke of Dallas; mother-in-law, Kay Vincent of Fort Worth. Betsy also leaves behind numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Raised in Eufaula, Alabama she is a graduate of the Lakeside School and the University of Alabama where she pledged Kappa Delta Sorority.

For 12 years Betsy worked for Delta Airlines as a flight attendant formerly residing in New York City and Atlanta before settling in Dallas, Texas in 1999.

Betsy enjoyed volunteering at University Park Elementary spending time with her children and their friends, traveling with her family, playing golf with her husband, teaching Sunday school at HPMC, and working on raising funds for LMS Research for The Betsy Project.  Her caring spirit, humor and wonderful personality will be greatly missed. A memorial service in celebration of Betsy’s life and legacy will be held in the sanctuary at Highland Park United Methodist Church, 3300 Mockingbird Lane, Dallas, Texas on Tuesday, July 3, 2012 at 11:00 a.m., Reverend Paul Rasmussen officiating.
